Tactile Tolerance / Desensitization

For the child who hates haircuts, labels, sticky hands or sand. Sensory brushes, textured mats and tactile fidgets let touch arrive in small, predictable doses that the child controls.

Never force contact; let your child choose the texture and the pace. Brushing routines are taught by an OT before they are used at home.
